Another Valentine Celebration
We've kept busy with three, not just two Valentine Banquets this month. Only this time it was not really a Banquet, it was a Progressive Dinner. Our church decided to do things a bit differently this year and we were able to be in on the production. Our part was to make the dessert and to provide some laughter for the group.
We won't even go into the cake fiasco. Suffice it to say, we had to quickly cover our mishaps by cutting the cake in advance and trying to distract the populace by placing a few chocolate-covered strawberries on the sides and sprinkling it with confectioner's sugar. No one seemed to notice, for which we were quite grateful!
The laughter provided was rather corny, but what can you do? In the skit arena, we work best by waiting till the last minute to prepare and then using the ad lib technique. It seemed to work fairly well, as folks did chuckle a bit at our retardedness. (Is that a word?)
Ski Trip 2008
If you already checked out the pictures at the gallery, then you have taken note that the girls hit the ski slopes again this year. What a time was had by all! This was Jessica and Monica's second time to go and Joanna's first time, and the weather resembled last year's in a great way--rain, fog, and sleet--but they still enjoyed their adventure.
They continue to work on their abilities, and so the "snow plow" was used quite frequently throughout the day, but at least there weren't as many falls as last year. No doubt, they provided plenty of laughs for other people as they flew down the hills, culottes flapping in the wind! You gotta love it.
