3 Days in Pennsylvania

September 19-21, 2008 We drove up to Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, on Friday afternoon. Pastor Jim Beach met us there, along with Bro. Dwayne Strout, an evangelist who will also be preaching this weekend. They took us to our quarters for the week--an apartment in nearby Martinsville. We hurried to get ready while Dad ran to get some pizza. The church was holding their campmeeting this weekend. Our third time to be here (although not for the campmeeting), we found the members of Morrison Cove Baptist to be very receptive once again. We had a sweet time of testimony at the onset. One little lady, at 88 years of age, gave testimony to the fact that it was God and the chiropractor that kept her going. ("In that order," she added.) We found that our singing skills were a bit rusty, but still, the Lord seemed to move as we ministered. Dad preached first, and Bro. Strout finished the evening. We relaxed a bit on Saturday and then met with Pastor Beach and Bro. Strout for dinner before the services. Saturday evening was a good repeat of the previous evening. We have found that some of our greatest times of ministry come when we are ministering in a small setting and encouraging the lay people of the church. The next day was filled with singing, preaching, eating with the church family, and fellowship. The members dressed in old-fashioned clothes to celebrate the campmeeting. One of these days we're going to get up real nice old-fashioned outfits! There was an afternoon service that wrapped up the weekend. We headed home and made a quick stop at Quizno's before reaching our "holler".
